Ballarat High School back to MANNET

The Centre for Advancement of Men's Health was invited to present a series of three workshops over a space of four months to students of Year 9 and 10 at Ballarat High School.  The program was delivered to these students through single sex discussion groups led by same sex facilitators.

The Centre for Advancement of Men's Health showed initiative in modifying the boys program to suit the needs of adolescent girls and included female presenters in their team.

The program developed by the Centre for Advancement of Men's Health complements what is taught in the Health curriculum at this school, and is also complementary and supportive to the Turning the Tide program.  All facilitators displayed expertise and enthusiasm in the delivery of their message and actively engaged student input in each session.

The feedback received from the students was extremely pleasing and encouraging where the vast majority enjoyed the introductory session and were looking forward to discussing their concerns in later sessions.

In conclusion the extensive statistical data collected by the group would be invaluable in planning for future programs, which is in addition to the tangible benefits received by the 540 students who have accessed the program.

Yours sincerely
