Conducted at Blair Athol Coal Mine Partners Session

The following information was obtained through a follow-up questionnaire administered to partners of male employees from the Blair Athol Coal Mine.

Significant findings include

  • 95% of respondents are currently married
  • 70% of respondents rate their general health as high to excellent (ranked 8 or above on a scale of 1 - 10)
  • 75% of respondents rate the general contentment as high to excellent (ranked 8 or above on a scale of 1 - 10)
  • 65% of respondents indicated Cancer (all types) was an important area of health to them
  • 65% of respondents indicated Stress in the workplace as an area of Men's Health that needed to be addressed
  • Over half of the respondents (60%) had visited a GP in the last year 3 times or less
  • 75% of respondents rated their last experience with a GP as good to very good
  • 60% of respondents visited the GP for women's health reasons
  • Almost all of the respondents (95%) indicated the most important health professional / service for them was a GP
  • As a result of the Workplace Health Program, 85% of respondents would encourage their partner to visit a GP
  • The top 5 possible sessions to attend in the future were (in ranked order, 1st to 5th) General women's health, Relationships, Parenting, Communication and Health lifestyle sessions
  • 40% of respondents indicated they were happy with their relationship
  • 65% of respondents indicated they were happy with sex / intimacy
  • Just under half of the respondents (40%) indicated they were happy with their work / income
  • 70% of respondents indicated relationships / family issues were the issues they would like address the most
  • All of the respondents (100%) indicated the session was worthwhile. No respondents indicated the session was boring or of no use
  • 95% of respondents indicated they would attend more sessions
  • After the session 60% of respondents said they were more aware, 45% said they felt good and 35% said they felt informed
  • All of the respondents (100%) felt the company was investing in their Health and Wellbeing
  • 100% of respondents felt that more Workplace Health Sessions should be conducted.
