Reasons for taking part in the Screening

74% took part as a General Interest
32% took part because they were concerned for their health
2% took part due to pre-existing heart problems
16% took part due to a Family History of heart problems
11% took part for no reason …. It's available
11% took part as they needed a checkup
6% because their partner encouraged them

Awareness of Risk Factors

69% thought Smoking was a risk factor for heart disease
55% thought Family History was a risk factor for heart disease
69% thought being Overweight was a risk factor for heart disease
51% thought Poor Diet was a risk factor for heart disease
44% thought Age was a risk factor for heart disease
62% thought Lack of exercise was a risk factor for heart disease
60% thought high cholesterol was a risk factor for heart disease
62% thought High blood pressure was a risk factor for heart disease
4% had no idea

18% had moderately changed their lifestyle habits to decrease their risk of Cardiovascular Disease
46% had not changed their lifestyle habits to decrease their risk of Cardiovascular Disease
Of those who had changed their lifestyle habits

4% had cut back/given up smoking
22% had lost weight
22% had reduced their cholesterol intake
32% had reviewed their diet
25% had increase their exercise
16% had visited a GP
